Feature 01
A terminal, not a text box
A full xterm emulator with cursor addressing, colour, mouse reporting and correct window sizing, so vim, htop and less behave the way they do locally.

Deploy when you save
Point it at a local folder and a remote path. Each saved change is uploaded, missing remote folders are created, and transient failures are retried. Deletions are not mirrored, so removing a local file never removes it from the server. Post-deploy commands run when you press Run Hooks Now on the Deploy screen.

Sync you can read first
Mirror or two-way sync between a local and a remote folder, walked recursively and shown as a plan before anything moves. Deleting files that exist only on the destination is off by default and asks for confirmation.

Your coding agent, on your terms
oxid-transfer mcp lets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code and Zed list, download, upload and move files, but only on sites you opt in. There is deliberately no delete tool and no sync tool.

Which protocols are supported?
SFTP, FTP, FTPS, WebDAV, Amazon S3 and S3-compatible storage including Cloudflare R2 and Backblaze B2, Azure Blob Storage and Google Cloud Storage. SMB and personal clouds such as Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive are not supported.
Is the terminal a real terminal?
Yes. It is an xterm-compatible emulator (SwiftTerm) on a real SSH PTY, so full-screen programs like vim, htop and less work, and the remote side gets the correct window size.
Does it resume interrupted transfers?
Not yet. A failed transfer is retried automatically with backoff, but an interrupted file starts again from the beginning. Resuming part-way needs separate work for each protocol, and we will say so here when it ships.
Can a coding agent use it?
Yes, through the built-in MCP server, and only for the sites you switch on for it. The agent refers to sites by name and never sees a password. There is no tool for deleting remote files or applying a folder sync, and SSH commands need a separate per-site switch.
Does it run on Intel Macs?
Yes, it ships as a universal binary. It needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
