Does it block ads in every app?

It blocks ads and trackers in Safari and in the in-app browser that apps like Mail and Reddit use. Some in-app ads (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) come from the same servers as the content, so no Safari blocker can remove them — we don’t claim to.

Does dark mode work on sites without one?

Yes — that is what it is for. Oxid Block builds a dark theme for each page as it loads. Sites that already look dark are detected and left alone, unless you choose otherwise for that site.

Why does Safari warn that it can read my web pages?

Safari shows that warning for any extension that changes how pages look, because it needs to restyle them. The dark mode extension does that on your device. The ad blockers use Apple’s content-blocker system and never see the pages you open.

What leaves my iPhone?

Nothing about you. The block lists are built into the app, so there is no list to download and no request that reveals the pages you visit. There is no Oxid server and no analytics.

Is Pro a subscription?
