How it works

The AI actions use Apple’s on-device model, part of Apple Intelligence. Text recognition, scanning, finding and straightening pages, transcription, translation, read aloud, redaction and signing PDFs use Apple’s frameworks on your device. The app has no account and no server, and contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

What leaves your device

Nothing you open in Oxid AI — text, screenshots, scans, PDFs, recordings or results — is sent to us or anyone else. The first time you translate or transcribe in a language, iOS may download that language’s files from Apple to your device. Sharing a result is up to you, through the Share Sheet.

What stays on your device

Your history, PDF library, recordings (audio and transcript), custom actions, the signature you draw to sign PDFs, and your settings are stored in the app on your device and are never uploaded. You can delete any of them in the app (a saved signature with “Forget saved signature”), and deleting the app removes them all.

Permissions

The app asks for the camera only when you scan, the microphone and speech recognition only when you record, and adds to your photo library only when you save a redacted copy. When you pick screenshots or photos to read or scan, iOS’s photo picker gives the app only the photos you choose, not your library. It doesn’t ask for your contacts or location.

Purchases

Oxid AI Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment; the app only checks, on your device, whether Pro is unlocked.
